Gratitude Friday

Today is my absolute favorite day of the year -- the first day of SPRING!!!

This morning I'm serving coffee that my husband roasted himself. Not sure what country the beans are from, but it's pretty yummy! Grab a cup and join me in Gratitude Friday.

1. first day of Spring! I look forward to this day so much, esp after the winter that Spokane has had! I love the daffodils and tulips that are coming up. Just new life!!

2. great teaching jobs all this week. I've taught two different classes of first graders and two different classes of 5th and 6th graders. Each class is unique and wonderful!

3. having Ian home this week for his spring break. I haven't seen much of him, but it's nice having him home!

4. the gift of sight and hearing. I'm looking out into my backyard and can see the little weeping willow tree with its new buds and the snow is all gone! I can hear the birds singing outside & my radio inside playing "Who Am I?" (When I had optic neuritis last year, sight became a big issue as I lost vision in my left eye for three weeks. SCARY!)

5. brand new soft white socks that match! Today is a casual day at school so I'm in jeans, Ridgeview t-shirt and new white socks with my comfy Saucony shoes. It's going to be a great day!

Just popping over for coffee. Daffodils are wonderful, aren't they? They're always seem to be a marvellous flower to herald the start of spring!

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes,
Jo

Happy spring!! We do take the simple things for granted, like sight and hearing. His beauty is something I wouldn't want to miss out on. Have a fantastic day and weekend!

Thanks for stopping by. I think we might have to experience some green milk next year. The boys will love it, will have to see about my daughter.
I agree with you about the flowers. Our daffodils are blooming as is our purple plum trees. I love spring. Have a great weekend.

We have casual day at our school too, but we have to pay for ours. $20 towards a professional development book or we donate to United Way or Susan G. Komen...I prefer the latter.
Have a great weekend!

Yum, I can smell your wonderful coffee! Or at least pretend to, as all I have at the moment is very strong office coffee.

No flowers up here in Wisconsin, yet, but this morning the clerk at McD's put a package of Portulaca seeds in my bag!

2. The smell of wet dirt...EVEN in my porch.

3. Antibiotics for ear infections.

I'm with you...I love the spring. My husband and I just got back from a drive to a nearby village. We had a picnic in a field full of daffodils as far as the eye could see. Sunshine makes me happy! I posted a picture of my cherry tree in full bloom on my blog this week-it's spectacular in it's beauty. Enjoy your weekend.

It is nice to see the snow melting away, isn't it? JS woke up yesterday and said "Hey mom, it's the first day of Spring! But there's still snow in the yard! How can it be spring with snow in the yard!" I had to laugh. Welcome to Spokane weather. :)

Nice to have coffee with you this morning, as usual.

Have a great weekend!

I love, love, love spring (though it's far too short in TX) and I especially love comfy new socks! Thanks so much for the coffee - I am impressed that your hubby roasted it himself!

Spring is wonderful, isn't it!

My brother is going to be transferring to Washington State sometime this year, for his job. I'm not sure where it is though. He was in Kuwait for three years, and I'm not ready to let him go again. He's the wanderer of the family though. I'm the homebody. LOL

I'm just getting around for coffee...on Monday morning! Is it too late?? I'd love to try the husband-roasted beans!

I was just enjoying my own comfy socks this morning, mysteriously from my son's sock drawer. Thick and soft, it made my morning feel very luxurious. small pleasures.

The daffodils sound lovely! I grew up in Poulsbo WA and remember the wet, green springs, the beautiful flowers and scenery. Sadly, nothing like that is here in Texas, but I noticed that the bluebonnets really popped out this weekend. Lovely!

I need to visit your parts of Washington. I hear it's a lot different than here in Lacey.

Thanks for the delicious coffee.
