Settling down...

The orthopaedic specialist authorization never came through today and it just was a tough emotional day! I have come to realize that I was totally spoiled with Fairchild's Flight Medicine Clinic. Triple spoiled and well taken care of by Dr. Wonderful and Dr. Kuhar. So this combination of the civilian doctor community and military insurance (to which I'm BLESSED to have!) are going to take some getting used to. I decided that perhaps I'd go hide under a rock*, since I can't run away because of a broken foot. But look what came up on Sarah's Art House blog tonight -- she has BEAUTIFUL inspiring words and fun artwork -- I was struck by this piece! I've put the words below the picture to share the verse with you.

Isaiah 43:1-3

"Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine. When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you. When you're in rough waters, you will not go down. When you're between a rock and a hard place, it won't be a dead end — Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior."

Kerri, that really is beautiful. I'm sorry you are experiencing all the Dr. trouble.

Someone mentioned coming over here to see your feet on my blog and I thought you'd get a kick out of it! They read your comment and came to see your feet! :) happy weekend, friend.

First, love the picture and the verse. Consider yourself hidden in the cleft of his hand when you feel between a rock and a hard place. It's a good place of safety and rest when little else is "moving" in your life. Next, loved Tawni's quote, especially as it pertains to our NOT comparing ourselves/lives with others. Let's get on with our own calling and find our purpose.

Next, we've already had the toe talk...enough said.

Lastly, I have a fond addiction to pumpkin spice and christmas "mint" (not sure of the proper name) frappucino's at Starbucks, although my waist is forcing my momentary retreat.

I'm sorry for your "stall" in plans. I know what it is to be out of commission because of a bum foot. Still and yet, during my time of recovery, I found ways to adapt and stay active. Not knowing the full story or how this might affect your daily living, I would only encourage you to see what God might have for you in it all.

Intentional "pauses" are not always a problem. They aren't void of purpose or passion when we're willing to open our hearts up to possibility. I know. I sometimes feel as if my life has been one long pause.

Anyway, may your week be filled with the presence and peace of Jesus Christ at every turn. So good to meet you via your feet.

How lovely are the feet of them who bring the good news of Jesus. Keep walking him, friend.
